Beth Sholom Players was started by Beth Sholom Congregation's former Eductional Director Steve Friedman in 1992 with the first show being Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 1993. Following the departure of Steve Friedman in 2003, Dean Malissa and Miriam Giguere directed The Music Man in 2004. Debbie Schrager took over co-directing responsibilities from Dean Malissa in 2005 with The Sound of Music. Donna Levin became a co-director in 2006 with The Wizard of Oz. In 2008, the show was moved to Gratz College, and was opened to members of the Old York Road Kehillah.
